1They told David, "The Philistines are fighting in Keilah, and they are plundering the threshing floors."2He inquired of the LORD, "Shall I go and strike these Philistines?" And the LORD said to David, "Go and strike the Philistines, and you will save Keilah."3And David's men said to him, "Look, we here in Judah are afraid, and even if we go to Keilah against the battle-arrays of the Philistines."4David continued to inquire of the LORD, and the LORD answered him, "Rise, go down to Keilah, for I am delivering the Philistines into your hand."5David and his men went to Keilah and fought against the Philistines. They drove off their livestock, struck them with a great blow, and David delivered the inhabitants of Keilah.6It was when Abiathar son of Ahimelech fled to David at Keilah that an ephod came down in his hand.
